Leyton Orient midfielder Lloyd James admits he was delighted when the FA Cup third round draw last week saw Chelsea pulled out of the hat, but insists they are fully focus on beating Scunthorpe United tonight (Tuesday).

Ian Hendon’s men make the long trip up to Glanford Park for a second round replay after the two sides couldn’t find the net at Brisbane Road on December 5.

The reward for winning this evening is huge in every sense of the word with the team that progresses earning £27,000 in prize money.

On top of that is a trip to Premier League champions Chelsea in the next round – another huge money day for the victorious club.

But first the O’s must get past the Iron, a League One side that have only won once over the past month.

James: “I was delighted when we got Chelsea away in the FA Cup draw, but look we have a big game at Scunthorpe.

“We know it is a tough match so we can’t go jumping the gun. The reward is massive, but we have a tough game.

“If we can play the way we did at home against Scunthorpe, I am sure we won’t be far away.”

Since starting the first match against the Iron, James appears to have cemented his spot in Hendon’s starting team again.

An injury to Sammy Moore has allowed him a path back into the fold and he admits, he is relishing being back in the side.

“I got another start at Mansfield and I have a taste for it. I have always wanted to be involved, but I have had to be patient,” added James.

“I know we’ve got a great squad of players. Whatever team the manager picks, hopefully I can be in it.”

The former Southampton midfielder revealed he had been working as hard as possible to get back in the side.

He started the campaign in the team and was present in the opening eight games before being restricted to a place on the bench.

But now he is involved again and determined to remain a firm part of Hendon’s plans.

James added: “It’s been good to be back. I’ve been out of the team and I’ve worked my socks off to get back into the team.

“Hopefully now I can keep hold of my place. There’s a lot of lads coming back to fitness but hopefully I can stay there.”
