Staff at an East London dairy business will invoke the company’s philanthropic history later this month when they abseil 540 feet down Broadgate Tower.

Stephen O’Rourke and Henry Jones, from Jones Brothers Dairies, are taking on the challenge in a bid to raise money for the Stroke Association charity.

The company has a long-standing commitment to charity work, with Henry’s grandmother Sarah Jones, who ran the business between 1921 and 1937, particularly well-known for her generosity.

Mr O’Rourke said they had chosen to support the Stroke Association after members of both of their families had suffered strokes in the past.

“Jones Brothers would like to revive the way in which Sarah used to help out those who are less fortunate”, he added. “The Stroke Association does so much to help the victims of stroke and their families so we would be extremely proud to support such an organisation.”

The pair will embark on their adventure on Saturday, September 15. Donations can be made at: http://www.justgiving.com/JonesBrothersDairies
