Jools Holland performs for Canary Wharf commuters to launch piano project

Commuters were treated to a special performance at Canary Wharf station when Jools Holland took to the piano.

The musician, who hosts a Radio 2 programme as well as an annual New Year’s Eve celebration, visited the station yesterday afternoon to launch the #Platform88 project.
The two-year scheme, which takes its name from the number of piano keys, will see the instruments placed at stations around the Tube network for passengers to play on and entertain others.
Jools, who autographed the piano he performed on, said: “ I’m thrilled to be a part of #Platform88 and I’m sure this beautiful instrument will provide much enjoyment for players and audiences alike.
“I’d encourage everyone to either have a play or just stop and listen for a while.”

At the end of the scheme, the piano will be donated to the Music For All charity, of which Jools is a patron.
