Forward scored just once for O’s despite making 20 appearances for the club

Jordan Bowery has agreed a move to League Two outfit Crewe Alexandra after leaving Leyton Orient following the conclusion of the 2016/17 season.

The ex-Aston Villa forward exercised an option in his contract to exit the club after O’s suffered relegation to the National League.

Bowery will officially join the Railwaymen on July 1 after enjoying a successful loan spell with the club at the end of last season.

The forward signed a two-year deal with Orient last summer, but struggled throughout his time in east London.

Bowery made 20 appearances for O’s, but scored just once before being loaned out to Crewe in January.

And the tall attacker has now made the switch permanently having impressed the Alex faithful.

Bowery joins Liam Kelly, Sammy Moore and Paul McCallum in officially departing Orient this week.

Many more are expected to follow their lead in the coming months after a terrible 2016/17 season for the Brisbane Road club.
