Dear Ed,

I HAVE just heard Cllr Josh Peck’s pathetic defence of that taxpayer-funded, Tower Hamlets Labour party rag East End Life’ on BBC London.

That free giveaway paper is an insult to the media industry, illegally operating contrary to the Local Government Act in its abuse of public money to fund a party political output—a Labour party biased output.

It beggars belief that the Labour administration at the Town Hall has the cheek to roll out week after week a newspaper that promotes the Labour party and their own councillors’ careers.

If you only ever read East End Lies’ you would be living in Cloud Cuckoo land. You would be fooled into believing that the Labour party was the salt of the earth, that crime was non-existent in the East End of London, that child obesity was not a problem (one of London’s highest rates) and education standards were the best in the county.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

You would also be forgiven for not knowing of the existence of Respect, Lib Dem and Conservative Opposition parties on the council.

Josh Peck insists that the East London Advertiser and East End Lies’ do a totally different job.

He’s right on that one. The East London’ deals with facts, while East End Life’ deals with lies, fabrications and general Labour party drivel.
