Justin Edinburgh confident Leyton Orient’s attackers will be firing soon after busy start to January

Justin Edinburgh insists he won’t lose sleep over the fact Leyton Orient have gone three National League games without a goal.
The O’s were involved in a second consecutive goalless draw last weekend at home to Boreham Wood, though they were indebted to a strong performance from Dean Brill to secure another clean sheet.
Following four wins in a row over Sutton United, Haringey Borough, Maidstone United and Dagenham & Redbridge, Orient have now failed to score since the Boxing Day victory over Daggers.
But Edinburgh said: “No, I’m not too worried about three games without a goal.

“Saturday was probably the only one where chances for us were limited where as against Dagenham and Bromley we could have had five or six goals, so I won’t lose sleep over this run.
“I believe in the players and conditions were difficult, but what we have done is given ourselves an opportunity to start working higher up the pitch, so now we can start to try and implement a few more ideas to overcome these situations.”

Edinburgh is right. Orient were unlucky to draw blanks at home to Bromley and away to Daggers, but Saturday’s first-half showing at Brisbane Road was one of the most disappointing since the new man arrived on November 29.
The O’s fans were expectant, but Boreham Wood outplayed the hosts in the opening 45 minutes and failed to make the most of a number of excellent chances due to some Brill brilliance.
Orient did improve following the restart and James Dayton should have scored while David Mooney went close and Macauley Bonne saw an effort disallowed.
Nevertheless, after three games without a goal, Edinburgh will be hoping his players can rediscover their Midas touch at Bognor Regis Town this weekend.
What will help the O’s going forward is the signings of Dan Holman and Lamar Reynolds from Cheltenham Town and Newport County respectively.
Both joined Orient on loan until the end of the season late last week with ex-Barking academy graduate Reynolds making his debut on Saturday and impressing during his 18-minute cameo.
The Brisbane Road faithful got some even better news on Monday when it was confirmed that Josh Coulson had signed permanently with the O’s after Cambridge United terminated his contract six months early.
It is a huge boost for Orient and Edinburgh and helps maintain the positive vibe at the east London club.
Another positive coming out of the club this week is the return to fitness of teenage right-back Myles Judd, who may start at Bognor now.
“Myles picked up a groin injury in training unfortunately, but he should train fully this week, so he should be fine for Saturday,” said Edinburgh.
