The 48-year-old discussed the importance of making Brisbane Road a tough place for opposition teams to visit

Justin Edinburgh is well aware if Leyton Orient are to be successful next season they need to make Brisbane Road a fortress again.

The O’s form on their own turf has been a topic of debate for some time and even if you look back to the 2013/14 season, when they reached the League One play-off final at Wembley, they still lost seven league games in E10.

Over the last couple of years Orient’s form at Brisbane Road has got even worse and it has resulted in relegations from League One and League Two.

There were other, more deciding, factors behind the east Londoners plummet to the National League, but now they are in non-league football the aim is to return to the Football League as soon as possible.

If O’s are to do that, Brisbane Road needs to become a fortress again and Edinburgh is looking to put the foundations in place during the final few games of the 2017/18 season.

He said: “It is vitally important to win at home and obviously if you are going to have success your home form is vital.

“We need to try and put that right, but it won’t be done overnight. A lot of managers have come and gone who haven’t quite been able to do that.

“But the win over Woking (3-0) gives us an opportunity to continue this momentum at home going into next season.”

Orient will aim to build on the Cards victory when they host Maidenhead United on Easter Monday.

Before beating Woking, O’s had gone seven games without a win at Brisbane Road following the Boxing Day success over Dagenham & Redbridge.

On March 24, Edinburgh’s team finally secured a maiden home victory of 2018 and everyone at the club is hoping it will be the catalyst for an unbeaten final five weeks of the campaign.

He added: “We just want to keep the momentum going and keep winning football matches and accumulate as many points as we can to take us to a position where we are safe and to help us continue the momentum into next season.”
