Justin Edinburgh also lauded the character of his team after Saturday’s late equaliser at Halifax Town
Justin Edinburgh wants his Leyton Orient forwards to show more of a clinical edge after almost paying the price for missed chances away to Halifax Town on Saturday.
The O’s were heading for a first loss of the season until James Alabi popped up with a stoppage time leveller to earn a 1-1 draw at the Shay.
It extended Orient’s strong start to the new campaign and they have now gone 10 games without a defeat in the new National League term.
While happy to see his team fight back at Halifax, the head coach wants Josh Koroma and Macauley Bonne to make the most of their opportunities next time out.

Speaking to the official club website, Edinburgh said: “We always looked a threat and we got in really good positions, but we were wasteful and that is the only criticism I can have of the front two.
“When those chances come along and when we were dominating for long spells, we failed to get the opening goal we deserved.”

Bonne fired over in the first half while Koroma drilled an effort against the post early in the second period when both should have at least hit the target.
O’s dominance failed to get them any reward and in the 64th minute they gave away a penalty when young centre back Marvin Ekpiteta fouled Matty Kosylo inside the area.
Up stepped Dayle Southwell and he fired straight down the middle to put the hosts ahead with 65 on the clock.
Orient showed superb fight and character, however, to net an equaliser in stoppage time as Koroma’s shot was blocked and Alabi was on hand to slot home his first goal for O’s.
Edinburgh added: “If we had come away with nothing from the game it would have been a travesty.
“We have been playing well, but the way we controlled the game was immense and I was proud of the performance.
“In the dressing room it did feel like two points dropped, but it was great character and we went until the end and got what we deserved.”
