10th-placed Bromley visit Brisbane Road with the east Londoners seeking to end 2017 with a fifth consecutive victory in all competitions

Justin Edinburgh is firmly focused on Leyton Orient’s home clash with Bromley this weekend and not yet thinking about Monday’s return match with Dagenham & Redbridge.

The O’s host the Ravens at Brisbane Road this Saturday looking to make it five straight wins in all competitions.

After entertaining Bromley, who thrashed Orient 6-1 in August, the east Londoners make the short trip to Victoria Road to face Dagenham again after defeating John Still’s men 2-0 on Boxing Day (Tuesday).

With the two games taking place in the space of 48-hours, there could be a tendency to prepare for both, but that is not Edinburgh’s plan.

He said: “We can’t look beyond Bromley because once you do that and you take your eye off the ball the game can be cruel to you.

“We enjoyed our win on Boxing Day because it was a fantastic result against a very good Dagenham side and we gave the boys the Wednesday off to rest because they’ve worked hard over this busy period and made sacrifices.

“Now it is all about preparing for Bromley and we know that is going to be a tough encounter, but we want to continue to make Brisbane Road a fortress and a horrible place for people to come.”

Edinburgh went on to reveal how pleased he was to see Orient make life difficult for Dagenham on Tuesday despite a tricky first 45 in E10.

The visitors enjoyed the lions share of the possession, but failed to create many opportunities and O’s made them pay with a fine second-half showing in front of 5,125 fans.

Goals from Josh Coulson and Macauley Bonne earned Orient a second consecutive 2-0 success after winning by the same scoreline at Maidstone United on Saturday.

After making it four victories in a row, Edinburgh wants more home comforts this weekend, he added: “We don’t want teams to come to Brisbane Road and enjoy it.

“What we need to do is turn it into our advantage and make it a place people fear. We need to make it not enjoyable for the opposition and we did that from start to finish on Boxing Day against Dagenham.

“If we can continue to perform, the crowd are growing with us and I said when I walked through the door we’ll be doing this together and we certainly are at the moment.

“We want 2018 to be a good year for Leyton Orient – that’s what I’m here for and that’s what attracted me to this football club.”

More wins like O’s achieved against Maidstone and Dagenham and the Brisbane Road faithful will be smiling a lot more in the New Year.
