KFC has announced more store closures after delivery problems meant that it ran out of chicken.

The KFC in Mile End Road is expected to re-open this afternoon, following the announcement of further closures (today) on Tuesday, February 20.
Stores in Green Lane, Upton Park and High Street, East Ham and in Broadway, Stratford were closed this morning.
Last week, the fried chicken chain switched its delivery contract to DHL, which has since explained that operational issues are the cause of the supply disruption.
Their chicken was previously delivered by specialist food distribution group Bidvest.

KFC’s website shows that 575 of the fast-food chain’s 900 outlets in the UK and the Republic of Ireland were shut as of 9pm on Monday, February 19.
The international fast-food chain explained that their delivery issues were due to, “teething problems”.

“We won’t compromise on quality, so no deliveries has meant some of our restaurants are closed, and others are operating a limited menu or shortened hours,” they added.
