Former Premier League referee Chris Foy will be present at Brisbane Road on Monday

Kick It Out, in partnership with the Football Association and the Professional Game Match Officials Limited will host a diversity forum aimed at referees on Monday at Leyton Orient.

Hosted at Brisbane Road, home of the O’s, a number of industry professionals will be in attendance as they share their experiences in the game.

Former Premier League referee Chris Foy is one of the guests confirmed for the event. Foy spent over 20 years officiating in the professional game, taking charge of over 550 fixtures.

During the forum, there will be the opportunity to network with other referees, to participate in a Referee Development session delivered by Foy and a chance to learn more about the diversity work being undertaken in refereeing nationwide.

There will also be a discussion debating the barriers for Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) referees in the sport.

The event is open to those who are currently involved or are interested in refereeing at all levels of the game, with the aim of encouraging potential referees from under-represented backgrounds to attend the event in east London.

Sporting Bengal United manager Imrul Gazi, who recently joined Kick It Out in an advisory role for activity to be undertaken by the organisation at grassroots level, will also be present.
