GREEN-fingered youngsters were helping to give their East End estate a sprucing on Saturday by planting the first seeds for their community garden.
The Eris Estate in Mile End is home to a new re-generation project which aims to transform the area and residents were out on Saturday to help kick-it off.
As part of the community scheme, run by butter brand Kerrygold, neighbours are being encouraged to decide on how they want to see the area look and are being given the chance to grow their own vegetables.
There will be a seating area and a 'natural play' area for the kids.
And on Saturday, a 'recipe tree' is being unveiled at 1pm where neighbours can hang their own recipes and exchange them with others.
