Kids from four primary schools in Tower Hamlets collected the bottles and turned them into an eco-friendly greenhouse - with the finished product unveiled in front of 150 people.

Stepney City Farm’s environmental education project officer Hannah Leigh Mackie said: “The hope is that it will inspire kids to think about recycling and feel a good connection with the farm, and keep coming back to the farm.”

Children are now to be offered the chance to keep their fingers green during regular after school clubs on the farm, when they will sow seeds and nurture plants in the greenhouse.

Their construction was unveiled at a celebration on March 22.
