A TEENAGER and two men have been convicted today (Tuesday) following the murder of 24-year-old Bakari Davis who was stabbed just yards from his home by killers looking for another man.

The two men held Bakari by his arms while 19-year-old Sean Lynch callously plunged the knife in twice, in the chest and back.

Lynch, from Purcell Street in Shoreditch, East London, was found guilty by an Old Bailey jury of murder and jailed for life with a recommendation of 17 years minimum.

He will be almost twice his age before even being considered for release.

The two with him, 22-year-olds Michael Oladapo from Colville Estate in Hoxton and Kenneth Opoku from Clarissa Street in Dalston, were both cleared of murder—but found guilty of manslaughter. Oladapo got 11 years and Opoku six years.

SENSELESS KILLING

Det Ins John Crossley said after today’s convictions: “This was a senseless loss of life that has left Bakari’s friends and family distraught.”

Bakari was with a friend who was arguing with Oladapo who later returned the area with his accomplices to find him. They came across Bakari instead and attacked him on March 31 last year, 30 yards from his home in Edmonton.

Oladapo and Lynch tried covering their tracks as they fled by switching off their mobile phones.

All three travelled to Reading and Bournemouth the next day to lie low.’ Lynch even changed his appearance.

But they were spotted back in Edmonton last July and later charged with murder.
