FORMER King of the Jungle and EastEnders’ actor Joe Swash opened a new discount store on Saturday.
Mr Swash, who won jungle reality TV contest, I’m a Celebrity… Get Me out of Here! in 2003, gave away �1 vouchers for the Poundland store in Roman Road, Bow, signing autographs and posing for pictures with fans.
The actor played Mickey Miller in EastEnders for five years between 2003 and 2008, before his character and dad Keith Miller left Albert Square after a fire destroyed their home.
A DJ and entertainer provided a family fun day and a selection of prizes were also given away, including �10 for some lucky customers at the checkouts.
Poundland’s Trading Director, David Coxon, said: “Our current customers love us and we are sure the Bow shoppers will too.”
