LENNY Hamilton has been telling visitors to the public library what life was like when the Krays were top guns in London’s East End.

The former wheeler-and-dealer with underworld connections turned up at the Poplar Ideas Store in Crisp Street Market to sign copies of his biography Getting Away With Murder.

But too many people turned up to talk more to the man who knew Ronnie and Reggie than just get his autograph.

Lenny had them all spellbound with tales of the East End’s gangland life in the 1950s and 60s, with a questions-and-answers session keeping him at the library centre for nearly three hours. It was part of a series of weekly Golden Time’ sessions with different guests each Thursday.
