Michael Clark helped East Thurrock shock Aldershot Town in the first round of the FA Trophy this week.
The young Leyton Orient defender was involved in both games and helped his loan club produce an upset.
Rocks held their National League opponents to a 1-1 draw on Saturday in the first match at Rookery Hill.
Clark was impressive throughout and made two exceptional clearances when an Aldershot goal seemed a certainty.
And it was enough to place the O’s youngster in the Non-League Paper FA Trophy team of the day.
But Clark couldn’t celebrate that acknowledgement for long with Rocks visiting Aldershot on Monday night.
A thrilling encounter occurred with the hosts scoring in the 90th minute to force extra-time after a 3-3 draw.
Eventually East Thurrock found a winner to set up a second round tie at home to Braintree Town on January 14.
Rocks and Clark turn their attention back to the National League South this Saturday and host Truro City.
It has been a frustrating period for Sammy Moore who was unavailable for Dover Athletic’s two games this week.
The ex-AFC Wimbledon midfielder is struggling with injury and currently back at O’s doing rehab.
Without Moore, Dover drew 1-1 at Dartford, of the National League South, in the first round of the FA Trophy on Saturday.
And the Whites suffered a shock 2-1 loss at the Crabble Athletic Ground on Tuesday night to exit the competition with the Orient loanee again absent.
Moore is unlikely to feature in this weekend’s clash at Forest Green Rovers in the National League, but should return soon.
Charlie Grainger played in goal for Hampton & Richmond Borough on Monday in the Middlesex Senior Cup.
Orient’s goalkeeper was sent off after full time of the Beavers FA Trophy defeat at Royston Town on December 6.
His suspension doesn’t count towards county cup competitions and therefore Grainger helped Hampton to a 2-1 win at Edgware Town earlier this week.
The 20-year-old is set to sit out Saturday’s National League South encounter at home to St Albans City.
Freddy Moncur and Bishop’s Stortford will end an 11-day wait for a competitive fixture this weekend.
Hemel Hempstead Town visit the ProKit UK Stadium on Saturday for a National League South match.
Moncur and Stortford were last in action on December 6 when they beat Watford 5-1 in the second round of the Hertfordshire Senior Cup.
Victor Adeboyejo played the full 90 minutes for Margate last weekend, yet couldn’t prevent them losing 2-0 to St Albans.
The young Orient forward was on target on Wednesday, however, in the Kent Senior Cup at Hargrave Park.
Charlton Athletic visited Margate and Adeboyejo opened the scoring in the 38th minute after poking home.
But the class of the League One side shone through in the end as they netted twice in the final eight minutes to claim a 2-1 success.
Next up for Adeboyejo and Margate is a trip to Hungerford Town in the National League South on Saturday.
