Leyton Orient Fans’ Trust have organised a protest rally to take place at 1.30pm on Saturday to be held at the bandstand in Coronation Gardens.

The supporters’ trust want to send a collective message of hope for the future whether chairman Francesco Becchetti remains in charge or not.

A LOFT statement said: “We want to send a clear message from all Orient fans that this (relegation) does not mark the end of Orient at Brisbane Road.

“We, the fans, will not let our football club die and this club will go on and recover because it is the fans’ club.

“Leyton MP (and LOFT external director) John Cryer will be there to talk about his attempts to secure Parliamentary debate over the lack of football governance that has allowed owners like Becchetti to remain in place.

“We will also be joined by Cllr Chris Robbins, Leader of Waltham Forest Council, who has also been very supportive of our efforts to secure a change of club ownership.

“We also hope to have some live music for you, and the Leyton Food Market will be open alongside for food and drink.

“The rally should last no more than 30-60 minutes so we hope to see as many O’s fans as possible!”

Orient fans sent a clear message to Becchetti during their last match at Brisbane Road against Hartlepool United on April 17.

Supporters dressed up as clowns and in other fancy dress and it helped create a real partisan atmosphere.

Fans also brought whistles into the ground and used them at 3.11pm to make their frustration towards Becchetti heard.

Throughout the game there were chants of ‘Becchetti out!’ and ‘Sack the board’ and similar was sung at Crewe Alexandra last weekend.

Orient’s supporters are set to invade the pitch at the end of Saturday’s game like they did after beating Hartlepool 2-1 earlier this month.

Although the battle on the pitch has been lost, off it the fans will not stop until they have forced Becchetti to leave after a terrible spell as chairman of the O’s.
