Meeting will take place tonight at the Birkbeck Tavern, 45 Langthorne Road starting at 7.30pm in the upstairs room

Leyton Orient Fans Trust hold their AGM tonight (Thursday) at the Birkbeck Tavern and members will vote on a resolution, calling for O’s owner Francesco Becchetti to put the club up for sale if he doesn’t change the way he runs the League Two club.

LOFT’s membership is growing daily and a number of ex-players have added their names to the cause of late.

Former full back and long-serving ace Terry Howard offered his support and said: “I have recently joined the supporters trust and feel honoured for the invite.

“If my membership can help in some small way to keep the club from further distress then it is well worth me joining and I urge all my friends at Brisbane Road to do the same.”

Two of the 2005/06 League Two promotion winning team also offered their support to LOFC ahead of the AGM. John Mackie, now assistant at Greenwich Borough, said: “It is sad to see what is happening there now.

“I’d like nothing more than to see the club back where it should be, competing for a place in the Championship, and whether it is LOFT or someone else, I would support anyone who can change the direction the club is heading now.”

O’s legend Matt Lockwood added: “When Barry Hearn sold the club, Orient were a penalty shoot out away from being a Championship club.

“Two and a half years on and we are staring down the barrel of going out of the Football League. There is only one reason this has happened and we all know what or should I say who that problem is. We need to get our club back before it is too late.”

LOFT’s AGM starts at 7.30pm in the upstairs room at the Birkbeck Tavern and it is asked people arrive in good time.
