Ex-Burton Albion skipper has spent time on sidelines recently serving suspension for red card against Plymouth Argyle

Leyton Orient boss Alberto Cavasin is looking forward to having more options in midfield to pick from in League Two.

The Italian has been forced to play a number of people out of position due to injuries and suspensions in the middle of the park.

But Nigel Atangana was back last weekend against Luton Town and captain Robbie Weir is available for Saturday’s trip to Hartlepool United.

“Atangana came back onto the pitch and did quite well, but he didn’t have a great physical condition,” said Cavasin.

“He is a player we all know to have good quality, personality and experience and in our development building up the midfield is one of the first things.

“Weir is coming back and it is very important for us even if the people in his position gave everything, I still need more.”

And the former Fiorentina manager believes Orient must not point fingers when making mistakes on the pitch.

The 60-year-old believes the squad have to stick together and learn from their recent losses to Luton and Portsmouth.

Cavasin added: “We have to pump up ourselves and I said that in the changing room that we have to learn how to live with a defeat and take the best out of it.

“We are the main characters for the loss, but it is part of the job and we have to take even more from defeats compared to victories.

“Nobody is the culprit. We have to move on together and this is the moment where we have to compact ourselves and be better.”

Orient’s new manager has endured a difficult start to life at Brisbane Road with three defeats from three.

Two were against teams pushing for promotion in League Two and the other was against a side from the division above.

But Cavasin has thanked the supporters for not turning on the players and urged them to keep backing the squad.

He said: “We are not in Italy where after three or four losses the supporters turn on the team and things don’t work properly in the week. From this aspect everything is great and it means we can come back up again.”
