East Londoners are back in E10 again on Saturday and supporters will get a chance to see plenty of new faces

Leyton Orient return to Brisbane Road on Saturday for the first time since April 30 and Sammy Moore has revealed the new signings in the squad can’t wait to play at E10.

The O’s entertain London rivals Charlton Athletic and supporters will be excited to get a glimpse of the new players in the Orient squad.

Andy Hessenthaler has been very busy this summer and already made eight transfers ahead of the start of the League Two season on August 6.

Striker Jordan Bowery joined at the beginning of this month on a free transfer, while Liam Kelly departed Oldham Athletic to sign for O’s.

Before that, French defender Yvan Erichot moved to east London from Belgium outfit Sint-Truiden.

Robbie Weir, Callum Kennedy, Tom Parkes, Josh Doherty and Gavin Massey have also agreed moves to Orient.

Moore said: “A few of the lads who signed this year have said they can’t wait to play at Brisbane Road and the atmosphere is brilliant.

“There are some good teams in League Two this season so we’ll have some big crowds and we need the fans to stick by us.

“I will make sure I give 100 per cent and whoever gets the shirt will do too and let’s hope it’s a good year and we can all be celebrating come May.”

With the Addicks coming to east London on Saturday, it also means Orient’s former manager Russell Slade will return to Brisbane Road for the first time since leaving.

After enjoying plenty of success during his four years at the club, the 55-year-old departed in September 2014 and joined Cardiff.

He is now at Charlton and most O’s supporters will relish the chance to see their old boss on the touchline.

It will be a good test for Orient as they take on a team recently relegated from the Championship and one they would like to face more regularly.

Moore discussed the aims of the east Londoners, adding: “There are some good teams in League Two who have recruited well this summer.

“Looking at our side on paper, we should be hitting the play-offs at a minimum. If we don’t then we’ve underachieved. We have a good set of players and team spirit and the play-offs are the minimum requirement.”

Orient finished eighth last season, but they’ve made a number of strong signings this summer to give fans more hope that this year they can challenge consistently.
