Leyton Orient player ratings: Blair helps give O’s a boost

The strikers of Leyton Orient rediscovered their scoring boots to inspire a thrilling five-goal victory against local rivals Dagenham & Redbridge.
Jay Simpson scored twice and Armand Gnanduillet hit a 65th minute winner, but both could have had a lot more at Brisbane Road.
O’s, up against a side that were relegated shortly after the full time whistle, defended poorly at times, but did enough to get all three points.
Alex Cisak (8) – Some crucial saves throughout including two late on that got his team the points. Much better compared to recent weeks.

Mathieu Baudry (6) – Captain made mistake which allowed Jamie Cureton to score, but battled through his own rustiness during first start since March 12.

Shaun Brisley (5.5) – Not as dependable as usual, had a tough afternoon against Christian Doidge and didn’t always come out on top.
Jerome Binnom-Williams (5.5) – Allowed too much space at times in first half and O’s were nearly punished, but did get forward well on occasions.
Sean Clohessy (7) – One of his better displays in recent weeks, lovely weighted pass for the opener and put in various encouraging balls.

Lloyd James (7.5) – Excellent in parts of the match, completely controlled midfielder at times, but did struggle towards end as game became stretched.
Nigel Atangana (6) – French ace put his foot in when needed, but failed to stamp his authority when on the ball and would be too close to James at times.
Blair Turgott (8) – Impressive performance from former Daggers loanee. After 10 minutes you knew he was going to have a good game. Two encouraging assists and might have had more.
Jay Simpson (7.5) – Orient’s top goalscorer found net after just three minutes and it was much-needed confidence boost. Could have finished with hat-trick, but thwarted by Cousins several times.
Armand Gnanduillet (6) – The French forward scored one and was involved in the other two goals, but also frustrated so much with numerous bad decisions, lots of selfishness and a poor work rate.

Substitutes:
Ollie Palmer, for Gnanduillet 66. (6) – Big man’s effort can never be questioned and he went close to scoring twice. Wonderful run during stoppage time helped relieve a lot of pressure, just typical he couldn’t find Simpson with pass.
