Leyton Orient lived to fight another day in League One after drawing with Sheffield United at Brisbane Road, but only just.

Two late goals for Peterborough ensured they weren’t relegated on Saturday. They had taken the lead against the Blades through Mathieu Baudry’s bullet header.

A deflected strike from Bob Harris, 13 minutes from time, salvaged a point for the away team and resulted in O’s dropping to 22nd in the table.

Alex Cisak (9) – On-loan Burnley keeper virtually prolonged Orient’s status as a League One club for another week with a string of top drawer saves against United. He was excellent all afternoon. Man of the match.

Most Read

Nathan Clarke (7) – Great block to deny an equaliser for United’s Stefan Scougall and was impressive in the air as always.

Elliot Omozusi (7) – Solid performance from left-back in unfamiliar position and he linked up with Dean Cox on a number of occasions.

Shaun Batt (5) – A strange decision by Fabio Liverani to include him and it didn’t work. He was too slow on the ball and looked a red card waiting to happen.

Marvin Bartley (6) – He tried to get O’s going in midfield, but struggled to contain Sheffield United opponents.

Lloyd James (6) – Midfielder attempted some decisive passes forward, but couldn’t get Orient on front foot enough.

Dean Cox (7) – Wide man was a constant threat in the first half and put various crosses into the area. His corner produced vital opener too.

Chris Dagnall (6) – Tested Mark Howard with low effort in first half and linked up encouragingly with Cox on a few occasions, but tired towards end.

Jay Simpson (6) – Quiet afternoon for forward who was playing off scraps, but he did come close with a late free kick.

Substitutes:

Jobi McAnuff, for Batt 52. (7) – Jamaican had a positive impact from the bench and went on mazy run, which nearly produced late O’s winner.

Josh Wright, for James 62. (6) – Midfielder failed to influence proceeding too much at Brisbane Road.

David Mooney, for Bartley 86.
