George Sessions provides player ratings following the 1-1 draw at Northampton Town
Leyton Orient needed a last gasp equaliser from Dean Cox to earn them a point against Northampton Town last weekend.
It seemed like Cobblers Adam Smith was going to help his team defeat the O’s after a stunning performance between the sticks at Sixfields Stadium.
However, Ian Hendon’s men rescued a draw in the seventh minute of stoppage time when Cox curled a free kick into the top corner.
The Orient fans went wild and rightly so, they had seen their side knock on the door for the whole of the second half and finally they managed to break it down.
Alex Cisak (7) – The Australian didn’t have too much to do, but did make one key save before he was beaten at the death.
Sean Clohessy (7) – Bombed forward to good effect again and nearly created the opener with a smart cross for Ollie Palmer.
Mathieu Baudry (7) – Solid display by the captain, battled hard and was involved in winning the free kick at the end, albeit in fortunate circumstances.
Connor Essam (7) – Assured performance, won lots in the air and came close to scoring his first for the club as well. That opening goal is getting closer.
Frazer Shaw (6.5) – Left-back didn’t do much wrong, but didn’t get forward or produce as much quality in an attacking sense as Orient would have liked.
Jack Payne (8) – Another top display by the midfielder on-loan from Peterborough as he dominated in the middle. He put his foot in numerous times to start attacks and passed the ball around with great authority.
Bradley Pritchard (7.5) – Great to have the energetic ace back in the side and his enthusiasm and work rate helped improve the O’s as it put pressure on the Cobblers.
Sammy Moore (7) – Former AFC Wimbledon man put in another shift and battled hard against Northampton, even came close to scoring his first for the club, but was thwarted by Smith.
Dean Cox (8) – A threat all afternoon, producing a number of teasing crosses that deserved to be converted. In the end, he had to do it himself, curling home into the top corner to send the Orient fans wild. Man of the match.
Jay Simpson (6.5) – The O’s top goalscorer had a lot of opportunities to put the visitors ahead, but either failed to hit the target or beat Smith. One of those days.
Ollie Palmer (6.5) – First league start for the big forward and he did a decent enough job. He came close to scoring on two occasions in each half before subbed off.

Blair Turgott, for Moore 67. (7) – The directness of the former West Ham man always makes a difference and he was unlucky not to win a penalty.
