George Sessions provides player ratings following the 3-1 defeat to Doncaster Rovers at Keepmoat Stadium in League Two
Andy Edwards first official match in charge of Leyton Orient ended in a 3-1 defeat at Doncaster Rovers with two penalties costing the visitors.
Callum Kennedy fired the O’s into a lead with 19 minutes played at Keepmoat Stadium, but Jordan Houghton equalised just before half time.
Two penalties for Rovers after the break, both converted by Liam Mandeville, handed the hosts all three points.
Alex Cisak (8) – A couple of outstanding saves from the Australian in the first half before he was beaten by Houghton. Another impressive display.
Myles Judd (7.5) – Bright start from full-back who got forward well on a couple of occasions and once again didn’t look overawed on only his second start for O’s.
Aron Pollock (7.5) – Handed an opportunity by Edwards and didn’t let the team down with solid showing. Won a lot of headers and produced brilliant tackle late on.
Tom Parkes (7) – Some excellent pieces of last ditch defending, though gave away a poor penalty when he should have stayed on his feet.
Callum Kennedy (7.5) – Wonderful free kick from left-back and produced fine cross late on which nearly helped Orient pull one back.
Michael Collins (6) – Forced to play out of position and couldn’t get on the ball as much as he would have liked, yet always offering an option.
Robbie Weir (5.5) – Another below par performance from captain and is struggling for confidence. Little he attempts goes to plan and was ran ragged in second half.
Nigel Atangana (6) – One of O’s most consistent players this season, though looks very tired and failed to stamp his authority on contest.
Sandro Semedo (5.5) – Youngster was at fault for equaliser, should have done better with initial header and then failed to close down Houghton.
Jay Simpson – (6.5) – Difficult afternoon for forward and struggled to keep hold of ball up top, but did produce some sensational skills and looked more lively than compared to last two displays.
Ollie Palmer (6) – Ex-Mansfield striker just couldn’t retain possession enough throughout the match, though put in a shift.
Substitutes:
Josh Koroma, for Semedo 57. (6.5) – Talented teen gave away penalty straight after introduction, yet responded well and nearly equalised, but fired over from just inside the area.
Paul McCallum, for Palmer 65. (6.5) – Got frustrated with referee on quite a few occasions, though nearly found the net with strong header, which was saved well.
