Kortney Hudson provides player ratings following a 1-0 defeat to Exeter City at Brisbane Road
Leyton Orient suffered their eighth successive home defeat against Exeter who started the game at the bottom of the League Two table.
The loss allowed the Grecians to leapfrog the O’s, and the east Londoners now sit one place above the relegation zone in 22nd.
Alex Cisak (6) – Despite a couple of questionable decisions when coming to collect crosses, the Australian was good when called upon with Exeter only registering three shots on target.
Callum Kennedy (5) – It was a very quiet first half from the former Swindon Town left back and was substituted at half-time due to injury.
Nicky Hunt (6.5) – The centre back had his hands full for the duration of the match with Exeter forward Reuben Reid, but despite going a goal behind after 26 minutes, defended strongly to keep the score down to one.
Tom Parkes (6.5) – He started the game well and handled the pressure from the visitors attack making numerous tackles and interceptions throughout, looking to move the ball forward.
Myles Judd (7.5) – The debutant gave a stand out performance, contributing to both defence and attack for the O’s. Judd, 17, was deservedly applauded at both half time and full time by the home fans. His confidence to receive the ball and move it up the field was impressive.
Gavin Massey (6.5) – A quiet first 45 display by the winger was overlooked in the second period as Massey managed to collect the ball in the midfield, beat the full back and drill in crosses, though unfortunately there was nobody to connect and convert.
Robbie Weir (5) – Almost non-existent in the first half and was substituted at half-time due to an injury and having struggled with a fever.
Nigel Atangana (5.5) – A lot of tough tackling by the midfielder resulted in an early yellow card for the Frenchman and limited his defensive contribution, but he did look more positive in the second half, collecting the ball and beating players to get the ball up-field.
Michael Collins (7) – Recent recruit worked hard to win the ball back and always looked to start and attack. As a result of all his effort, he looked well out of energy at the end of the match and it didn’t go unnoticed by the Orient fans.
Paul McCallum (5.5) – The forward done well to win the first ball, flicking it on and holding it up to try and play others in; but with nobody to combine with, the attacks came to nothing.
Jay Simpson (5) – Two-goal hero at Colchester United had another quiet game until a goal line clearance denied him the equaliser for Orient.
Substitutes:
Alan Dunne, for Kennedy 46. (6) – The full back introduced at half time contributed to the attack, linking up with Massey and Sandro Semedo in an attempt to level the scores.
Sandro Semedo, for Weir 46. (6.5) – Brought on at the break to add some width to the team, the Portuguese winger instantly made an impact, taking on defenders and producing good crosses for his team-mates. The youngster always looked positive and didn’t look afraid to turn defence into attack.
Ollie Palmer, for McCallum 59. (5.5) – He came on just before the hour mark and held up the ball well, winning free-kicks in the process. However the striker wasn’t able to connect with any of the crosses aimed his way.
