George Sessions provides player ratings following the 2-2 draw at Carlisle United
Leyton Orient were five minutes away from ending Carlisle United’s unbeaten record this season before conceding a late penalty.
Some have argued it was harsh to award a spot-kick against the O’s and some agree it was the right decision – I’m definitely in the latter.
What was more frustrating than the late goal, however, was tendency of people to switch off at crucial times during the League Two encounter.
Alex Cisak (6) – Australian made a couple of really good saves, but could have helped out defence towards end of the game. Some crosses were well within his reach and he needed to command area more.
Nicky Hunt (7) – Solid display by the right-back who has helped Orient look much more assured from a defensively point of view.
Yvan Erichot (5) – After impressing at Morecambe, French defender was very suspect at Brunton Park. On numerous occasions he misjudged his timing when trying to head the ball and his marking for the first goal was so poor.
Tom Parkes (6.5) – Decent performance by ex-Bristol Rovers captain, although perhaps allowed Shaun Miller too much time to cross in for equaliser, but did well in build up to Orient’s opener.
Callum Kennedy (6.5) – Very impressive at Morecambe and again pretty good at Carlisle, but was dragged out of position on a few occasions.
Gavin Massey (7) – Winger worked hard throughout and started well, creating a chance for Paul McCallum before testing goalkeeper himself.
Robbie Weir (7) – Lovely pass to help create the opener and always looks calm on the ball. Did get caught in possession once or twice early on, but soon settled into stride.
Liam Kelly (6.5) – Not fourth consecutive league goal, although did come close in the first half. Good display overall, but will be frustrated after conceding late penalty.
Harry Cornick (8) – The winger is full of energy and tricks, but on top of that really does help team out defensively. His goal was a moment of magic and he looks a real talent.
Jordan Bowery (7.5) – Shame he was forced off through injury as had done well before that and linking up nicely with McCallum.
Paul McCallum (8) – Looked in the mood early on and duly delivered another goal with a great finish. Worked hard and appears to be so sharp.
Substitutes:
Ollie Palmer, for Bowery 51. (6) – A lot of hard work and endeavour from Palmer, but just lacks cutting edge in final third.
