George Sessions provides player ratings following the 1-1 draw with York City
Leyton Orient had to settle for a point at Bootham Crescent after coming from behind to draw 1-1 with York City in League Two.
The O’s switched off from a throw in the first half and it enabled Bradley Fewster to put them ahead in the 17th minute.
Jobi McAnuff hit the post with a penalty just before the break, but Lloyd James come off the bench to equalise in the 75th minute.
Even though William Boyle had been sent off for the Minstermen at this point, neither side could produce a winner.
Alex Cisak (6) – Strange afternoon for Australian. He seemed too close to his line for the opener, but did make some decent saves. Second half he dropped relatively easy cross and pushed behind effort that was going wide.
Nicky Hunt (6.5) – Full back put a number of deep free kicks forward that created opportunities for Orient and played his part in winning penalty. His long throw helped produce equaliser too.
Peter Ramage (6.5) – Struggled at times with Minstermen forwards, but stuck to his task and settled into the game – made important late block.
Shaun Brisley (6) – Peterborough loanee looked way off the pace early on and was fortunate not to give away penalty, but grew into the contest after the break.
Jerome Binnom-Williams (6) – Better second half display, but switched off for the opener and too many times he looked very casual which is not what you want to see at this stage of the season.
Sean Clohessy (5.5) – Full back was at right midfield again and didn’t do much all game before he was substituted past the hour mark.
Nigel Atangana (5) – Really disappointing afternoon for French midfielder who constantly gave ball away and it wasn’t a surprise to see him hauled off - one of those days.
Kevin Nolan (6.5) – Better from O’s player manager. He was driving forward more and helped players improve after poor opening half an hour. Battled brilliantly in second half and tested Scott Flinders a few times.
Jobi McAnuff (6) – Jamaican international flashed an effort wide in first 45 before hitting post with his penalty. Unlucky not to score after break with wonderful strike and bounced back well after spot-kick disappointment.
Jay Simpson (5) – Another very frustrating day for the forward who is no longer top goalscorer in the division. He dallied on the ball far too much and didn’t take the chances created for him.
Ollie Palmer (7) – The big man was the only person to come out with any real credit in opening half an hour and he battled all game. Played his part in winning the penalty and the equaliser – Orient lost their momentum when he was substituted.
Substitutes:
Lloyd James, for Atangana 66. (8) – Midfielder was brilliant and produced superb cross within a minute of coming on. His direct passing got O’s forward and he kept his composure to smash the equaliser through a number of bodies.
Calaum Jahraldo-Martin, for Clohessy 66. (6.5) – Although he didn’t always pick the right option, his pace caused problems for York and ensured they were camped in their half at times.
