Peter Gill and Danny Webb have enjoyed an superb season, but with Webb now promoted to the first-team, Gill will aim to end the youth campaign on a high

While most of the Leyton Orient first-team squad can relax now the National League season has come to an end, there is a big game coming up later today (Saturday) for their under-18s at Brisbane Road.

Peter Gill’s team will play their final match of the campaign in the English Football League Youth Alliance Merit Division 2 against Plymouth Argyle this evening in a 6.30pm kick-off.

Unlike O’s game at Gateshead last weekend, this fixture has plenty riding on it and the young Orient side could be crowned champions with a victory.

If Gill’s outfit, who were managed by Danny Webb earlier in the season, defeat Argyle they will clinch the title, but a draw or defeat would see Northampton Town end as champions.

The Cobblers defeated Orient’s under-18s 5-2 last weekend, but O’s will be boosted by the return of some key players today.

Charles Clayden was part of Justin Edinburgh’s senior group at Gateshead and made his debut off the bench which followed in the footsteps of Ruel Sotiriou - another member of the youth-team.

Both will look to finish a positive personal season on a high by helping fire Gill’s young Orient to the title this evening at Brisbane Road.

Supporters can attend the EFL Youth Alliance Merit Division 2 fixture for free with admission through the main reception in Oliver Road from 5.30pm.

The O’s academy have already played at Brisbane Road this season, on their way to the FA Youth Cup third round, and won every match and will hope to be victories again tonight.
