Two local clubs will do battle at Brisbane Road this evening to decide who reaches the first round proper
Steve Davis is looking forward to seeing how Leyton Orient play in the FA Youth Cup tonight (Wednesday) at home to Hornchurch in the third qualifying round at Brisbane Road.
The O’s youngsters defeated Tower Hamlets 3-0 at the Mile End Stadium earlier this month and now have a chance to play at their own ground.
Orient’s youth-team reached the third round proper last season and earned a trip to Leicester City, but exited the competition following a 3-1 loss at the King Power Stadium.
Davis cast an eye on Danny Webb’s youngsters at the weekend and is excited to see how they cope with the pressure of playing at Brisbane Road this evening.

He said: “I watched the youth-team on Saturday play against Stevenage (1-0 defeat) and I always like to go and see who is coping and developing and doing well.
“I always like to know who has done well every week and Wednesday will give us a chance to see them on a different stage because the FA Youth Cup is always a big competition for the kids.

“We want some of them to kick on and if they are doing well, they’ll take the places of some of the people in the first-team – it’s as simple as that.”
A number of Orient teenagers have progressed into the first-team over the past 12 months with two – Tristan Abrahams and Steven Alzate – going on to secure big money moves to Norwich City and Brighton & Hove Albion respectively.
Myles Judd, Dan Happe, Henry Ochieng, Josh Koroma, Sam Dalby and Ruel Sotiriou have all made appearances in the league this season having been part of the academy set-up in the 2016/17 campaign.
If Orient’s youth can make it past Hornchurch, they’ll be at home to Biggleswade Town in the first round proper with the tie due to be played before November 4.
