Alessandro Angelieri provides witness statement in High Court which confirms O’s chairman Francesco Becchetti will inject a further £1 million into the club to pay off outstanding debts
Leyton Orient’s debt to HM Revenue and Customs has been paid in full, but the club owe four other creditors it has been revealed in the High Court this morning.
The O’s were served with a winding-up petition on March 1 by HM Revenue and Customs over an unpaid tax bill.
The outstanding money was understood to have been around £250,000, but that debt has been settled.
However, there are four other creditors who are still owed money including Central Circle Events Management Ltd, who provide match day stewards.
Orient’s chief executive Alessandro Angelieri provided a witness statement, which confirmed chairman Francesco Becchetti will inject a further £1 million into the club within eight weeks to pay off all outstanding debts.
Waltham Forest Council are understood to be owed £36,000 while the club photographer is owed £6,000.
The High Court judge has granted O’s chairman Becchetti until June 12 to pay off the outstanding debts or sell the club.
It means Orient live to fight another day in the short-term and should now fulfil the rest of their League Two matches.
