Andy Hessenthaler’s men have three home games in opening month of the season

Leyton Orient will begin the new League Two season with a trip to newly promoted Cheltenham Town on August 6.

Newport County will be the first visitors to Brisbane Road the following Saturday before Stevenage come to east London on Tuesday August 16.

Andy Hessenthaler’s men will then visit another team on August 20 which went up from the National League last season.

The O’s travel to Grimsby Town before finishing the month with a home clash against Mansfield Town.

Last year they beat Stevenage 3-0 at Brisbane Road before seeing off both the Exiles and the Stags 1-0.

Hessenthaler will therefore be confidence that his side can make another strong start to the campaign – they won their opening five matches during the 2015/16 campaign.

They do face some travelling in September with trips to Morecambe and Carlisle United on September 3 and 10 respectively.

Orient’s only London derby in the league is with Barnet and they will do battle at the Hive on October 1 before home games against Portsmouth and Luton Town on October 8 and 15.

Lloyd James will return to Brisbane Road on November 22 with Exeter City before O’s visit Doncaster Rovers to face ex-captain Mathieu Baudry four days later.

Orient fans won’t have much travelling to do over Christmas with a home game on Boxing Day against Crawley Town before hosting Cambridge United on New Years Eve.

They do make the trip to Exeter on January 2, however, for the first match of 2017 and some supporters will visit Plymouth Argyle on Valentines Day too – a Tuesday night fixture.

Orient will teavel to Luton over the Easter weekend on April 15 before hosting Hartlepool United on April 17.

They’ll finish their season with a trip to Blackpool and will hope to be celebrating at the seaside on May 6.
