TOWER Hamlets council's licensing sub committee is due to decide tonight (Thursday) whether to allow the Old Truman Brewery to show World Cup matches on big screens in Brick Lane.
Members will discuss the application to show games on big screens in the Z Block of the Brewery at a meeting at the Town Hall this evening.
The Brewery did want to screen matches from the beginning of the tournament, which started on June 11, but licensing officials were only able to schedule the meeting for this evening.
More than 20 people living near the Brewery have objected to the council's licensing department saying the large number of people watching the matches on the big screens could cause excess noise and antisocial behaviour.
