A POLICE constable at Limehouse station has been charged with sexual activity with a 14-year-old girl.
PC Robert Nicholson, 27, who is based at the station in West India Dock Road, has been charged under the Sexual Offences Act 2003.
He has been bailed to appear at City of Westminster Magistrates Court on Wednesday June 2.
The charge follows an investigation by the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC).
An investigation was launched in December 2009 following allegations that a 14-year-old girl was in an officer's company during a period that she had been reported missing.
The officer was arrested on December 18 and the matter was then referred to the IPCC, which managed the investigation.
