Dear Editor,
I AM astounded that a review of the effectiveness of Limehouse police station started as a part of Ken Livingstone's capital programme should now be portrayed by Tower Hamlets Labour Party as a Conservative proposal to close it!
Labour's own GLA member for East London, John Biggs, says the police station was unfit for purpose and he was pleased with that capital programme.
The hallmark of Livingstone's Labour administration was ignoring what local people said.
That is not how the Conservatives, locally and at City Hall, do things.
That is why we have reopened the consultation and want to hear from people about the future of policing in Tower Hamlets.
Labour's outrageous mistruths show how desperate they have become in the face of the forthcoming Tower Hamlets council by-election at Mile End East on November 20.
