Little Navie May Fuller couldn’t wait to get into the world and made a dash for it just four hours into the New Year.

Her mum Sarah Wilson, a veterinary nurse at an Isle of Dogs surgery, only just got to the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel in time when the baby popped out at 4am, weighing 7lb 7oz.

She had just watched the New Year’s fireworks on TV at her home in East India Dock Road, Poplar, and went to bed when she was woken up two hours later going straight into labour.

Sarah and partner Richie, a security guard, packed their two older children off to their grandmum in Bethnal Green and drove straight to the hospital in Whitechapel.

“I really wanted a leisurely delivery in a birthing pool for my third child,” Sarah told the East London Advertiser.

“But little Navie was in a bit of a hurry to be born.

“I went to the Barkantine birthing centre the day before when my waters broke, but they sent me home because she wasn’t due yet.”

But the new arrival wasn’t having any of it and woke her mum up at 2.45am ready to be born.

The couple’s other daughter Gracie, who is 11, is over the moon with her new baby sister and has quickly become a “second mum”.

They also have a 14-month-old boy, Richie Jnr, a little young to appreciate having another sister in the family—but mum’s confident the baby will grow on him.
