Only one in 20 trains into and out of Liverpool Street are running late, according to latest rail industry figures.

The Abellio operators managed 94 per cent on time for the four-weeks to April 27, which notches up the company’s 12-month average to 92.4 per cent—the best annual figure since the Anglia franchise was set up nine years ago.

The Stansted Express was 90.4 per cent on schedule, while the Norwich Intercity managed 93.2 per cent and Metro Southend via Stratford almost 97 per cent.

But best of all was the Romford-Upminster branch, hitting almost 100 per cent.
