MP CANDIDATE Rushanara Ali launched her election campaign this week as she was joined by the former leader of the Labour Party.
Ms Ali who is hoping to win the Bethnal Green and Bow seat on May 6 kicked-off her campaign at Mulberry School in Shadwell on Tuesday night.
She was joined by former Labour leader Neil Kinnock and the Prime Minister's mother-in-law Pauline Macaulay, who spoke in English and Bengali about her recent visit to Bangladesh.
And she also welcomed Energy minister Ed Miliband and Former Secretary of State for Health Frank Dobson.
Ms Ali says she is "working to unite the East End" and bring people together to have a "united voice".
