A deal has been signed with developers to pull down east London’s disused Queen Elizabeth Children’s Hospital and build 180 new homes.

But the 1904 facia of the original hospital building in Hackney Road is being kept as part of the deal with the GLA.

A planning application is now being prepared for Tower Hamlets Council for the 30 million project which will take five years to complete.

The Family Mosaic housing association is in partnership with Rydon developers and HTA Architects for the scheme which has an underground car park, 127 homes for private sale, 36 for social rent and 17 low-cost shared-ownership, built with Code for Sustainable Homes guidelines.
