A Labour community campaign against advice service cuts announced by the Mayor of Tower Hamlets saw more than 500 people sign a petition at the weekend.
The proposed cuts are to the council’s Mainstream Grants allocation, which the Mayor awards to legal, welfare and housing advice centres.
The next stage of the campaign will be a public rally this Saturday at 1.30pm outside Tower Hamlets Law Centre on Whitechapel Road. Councillors will be there, with Rushanara Ali MP and John Biggs AM.
