The London Assembly elects its new leaders this morning to take office for a tough 12 months ahead.
Assembly members are voting for their Chair and Deputy Chair for the year at their annual general meeting at City Hall.
The meeting also sets up Assembly committees governing issues such as housing and finance for a year that will see some of London’s biggest public spending cuts in a decade.
The Assembly will also appoint committee members who will elect their Chairs and Deputy Chairs and appoint the statutory Monitoring Officer for the Greater London Authority.
The meeting at 10am at City Hall, near Tower Bridge, is open to the public and can also be viewed on the Assembly’s webcast.
