More enforcement officers have started patrolling London’s East End tacking yob behaviour and breaches of by-laws.
Another 10 have completed their basic training and have joined the 16 already on patrol for Tower Hamlets Council.
Their actions so far in Bethnal Green alone have included dispersing an illegal rave in Vyner Street, binge drinkers in Redchurch Street, identifying three breaches of Anti-Social Behaviour orders, responding to several late-night noise nuisance calls and closing down an illegal encampment in Rhoda Street Gardens.
The enforcement officers have powers under the Police Reform Act to seize alcohol and tobacco and request the name of anyone acting in an anti-social manner.
