Bethnal Green and Bow MP Rushanara Ali has described chancellor George Osborne’s autumn statement as “devastating” for her constituents.
Mr Osborne delivered his autumn statement on the economy in Parliament last week, warning that the age of austerity is set to last until at least 2018.
Ms Ali responded by saying “the poorest in society are paying the price” as a result of Coalition policies.
“This Government is failing my constituents on jobs, growth and the deficit”, she added.
“The autumn statement offers no hope for those struggling to make ends meet. It is clear that this Tory-led Government is simply not delivering, and my constituents are suffering the consequences.”
