Plans are being prepared for a neighbourhood centre built in Poplar’s Bartlett Park, with public consultations due to end on Sunday.
Tower Hamlets Council has put its draft plan on public show, inviting ideas from the public for the park in Upper North Street, near the Limehouse Cut.
A final ‘drop in’ consultation is being held at Poplar’s Idea Store in Chrisp Street tomorrow evening (Weds), 5-8pm, to view the proposals. The council is holding an additional session on Saturday, 10.30am-1.30pm, due to interest shown during an open consultation last Thursday.
St Saviour’s Church is in the centre of park named in honour of Prebendary Philip Bartlett, its vicar for 39 years who died in 1958. The Grade II-listed St Saviour’s was almost destroyed by fire in 2007. Only the shell remains.
