Three people have been arrested on suspicion of funding terrorism in east London and north London as part of a Scotland Yard counter-terrorism operation.
Officers from the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command yesterday raided addresses in Plaistow, Ilford and Finsbury Park and business offices in Bow.
A 24-year-old woman was arrested at a house in Ilford, a 35-year-old man during “a pre-arranged meeting” in Plaistow and a 23-year-old man in Finsbury Park.
All three, arrested under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act, were taken into custody, but later released on bail pending further investigations and are due to return next month.
Officers also carried out searches at addresses in Plaistow and Stratford.
