Members of Tower Hamlets Labour group joined in last week’s Trade Union Congress march against government cuts last weekend.

Labour councillors and London assembly members were among more than 100,000 campaigners who turned out at the weekend arguing that the Coalition’s cuts are damaging public services and leaving vulnerable people at risk.

Councillor Motin Uz-Zaman, deputy leader of Tower Hamlets Labour Group, said: “Vulnerable Tower Hamlets residents are bearing the brunt of the Government’s cuts in every way possible.

“Labour councillors stood side by side with local people to send a message to the Government that the cuts aren’t working and that they should change course.”
