US Presidential candidate Mitt Romney visited the Old Royal Naval College for an interview with Piers Morgan during his trip to London last week.
Mr Romney, who secured the Republican nomination to stand against Barack Obama in November’s election, was interviewed with his wife Ann at the College for television network CNN.
Before visiting Greenwich, Mr Romney met with Prime Minister David Cameron, although his visit had already been dubbed the “Romneyshambles” on Twitter after a series of gaffes.
CNN chose to film the interview at the College, designed by Sir Christopher Wren, partly because of its proximity to Greenwich Park, where Mrs Romney’s horse Rafalca is due to compete in the Olympic dressage competition. Mr Romney remarked that the setting reminded him of the grandeur of Downton Abbey in the popular television series of the same name.
The interview is being aired on Piers Morgan’s “Tonight” show this week.
