The impact of welfare reforms on families in poverty is being discussed today at the London Assembly.

Members are to question Hackney’s executive mayor Jules Pipe, who also chairs London Councils, about a range of changes to welfare payments.

Also being questined at the Assembly are Child Poverty Action Group campaign co-ordinator Kate Bell, and Citizens Advice social policy officer Geoff Fimister.

The public meeting in the Assembly Chamber at City Hall in The Queen’s Walk, near Tower Bridge, begins 10am, which can be followed on webcast.
