A new arts and culture ‘zone’ has been added to the London Jobs Fair which is coming to east London for the first time next week.
The annual one-day event, normally staged in south London, opens this year at Bethnal Green’s Rich Mix arts centre on Tuesday with the new ‘zone’ to attract more jobseekers interested in the arts, stage and media.
The section has already attracted prestigious employers such as the Royal Opera House, Shakespeare Globe and National theatres and Ambassador’s theatre group.
It runs in addition to the regular employment and training zones with offers of training, voluntary work, apprenticeships, mentoring and even work trials. Some of the big-name employers on hand for advice include KFC, London and Thames Valley fire brigades, the NHS, Whizz Air Hungarian airline, Wilmott Dixon construction and Fashion Retail academy.
The London Jobs Fair at Rich Mix in Bethnal Green Road is also running practical training sessions to help jobseekers improve their careers searches.
Tickets can be booked online and there are further details on Twitter @LondonJobsFair. Rich Mix is close to Shoreditch High Street Overground station
