London’s first ‘night czar’ is looking into at the impact of the night time economy and is coming to the East End to help tackle anti-social behaviour on the streets.

Amy Lamé is asking for views from the public as guest speaker when she joins Tower Hamlets Mayor John Biggs at a public meeting in Shoreditch on April 6.
She is making a presentation on London’s night-time economy as part of a council investigation on how to tackle anti-social behaviour and make the most of employment, entertainment and business opportunities.
It follows pressure from families living around Brick Lane affected by nightly disturbances.
Mayor Biggs said: “We need to do all we can to minimise any negative impact on people.

The council is working on a strategy dealing with trouble spots like Brick Lane and recognises people have “a wealth of knowledge” about their neighbourhoods that it wants to use to “strike the right balance” of residential, social and economic benefits in the night time economy.
The April 6 public meeting with the ‘night czar’ Lamé from the GLA is at St Hilda’s East community centre in Club Row, off Bethnal green Road, at 6.30pm.
